Brit Award-winning star Lisa Maffia is making headlines for an unexpected turn in her life. The 45-year-old singer, renowned for her time with So Solid Crew, surprised fans by revealing she’s been cleaning toilets and emptying bins at her local church. In a candid Instagram clip shared with her 94.1 thousand followers, Lisa showed off her down-to-earth side as she tackled various chores, including vacuuming the church premises.
Dressed casually in a simple black tee and trousers, Lisa looked worlds away from her glamorous red carpet appearances. Her upbeat vibe shone through as she captioned the clip with, “love my life,” while tagging CityGate church, where she’s an active member of the community. Lisa isn’t just cleaning; she’s also welcoming visitors, teaching, caring for kids during services, playing music, and even managing the tech side of things like sound and live streaming.
Lisa is no stranger to success, having scored five top-20 hits, including the platinum-selling single “21 Seconds” and the album They Don’t Know with So Solid Crew. Her solo career has also been impressive, with two top-10 singles and multiple awards, including the hit “All Over”. Her last musical release was in 2017 with the track “Wah Gwarn”.
In addition to her music career, Lisa has proven herself in acting, appearing in projects like The Living Dead (2020), Time To Collect (2021), and the upcoming RoadGirl (2023).
Recently, she reignited the spotlight when she made waves in a podcast interview, slamming former Loose Women panellist Carol McGiffin. During her candid appearance on the Livin’ Lavida Loca podcast, Lisa didn’t hold back, calling Carol “a rude a******” and stating that her relationship with a younger man had gone to her head.
When the host asked Lisa about the worst celebrity she had ever met, she immediately responded with Carol’s name. “Oh, I know this one. Her name is… what is her frigging name? She’s rude, you know? She was one of the original panellists on Loose Women, such an a**hole,” Lisa candidly remarked.
As she elaborated, Lisa described Carol, highlighting traits that went beyond just rudenes“She had… she was old, short bob, grey, blondish hair. She had a young boyfriend. So she had really short cropped sort of hair, and it kind of went to her head. I had to check her.” The host confirmed that she meant Carol McGiffin, to which Lisa enthusiastically replied, “Yeah. That’s it, McGriffin or Griffin, little flippin’ gruff, billy goat gruff. Nah, she was rude. I will tell you as it is, don’t try me.”
