Piers Morgan Calls Out Greta Thunberg Over Controversial Claim

In a dramatic turn of events, Piers Morgan has unleashed his fury at Greta Thunberg after she claimed in a video that she was “kidnapped” by Israeli forces. The climate activist was part of a group aiming to protest Israel’s campaign in the Gaza Strip aboard a boat named the Madleen when Israeli forces intercepted them. In her pre-recorded message, Thunberg urged her supporters to pressure the Swedish government for her release and that of her fellow activists.

She stated, “I urge all my friends, family, and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.” The Israeli foreign ministry, however, assured the public that the activists were unharmed and safely on their way to Israel.

Responding to Thunberg’s video on X, Morgan didn’t hold back. He tweeted, “Oh shut up, @GretaThunberg – you attention-seeking narcissist. What an insult to the actual hostages in Gaza who really WERE kidnapped. This stupid stunt is all about your ego, and will make zero difference to the plight of innocent Palestinians caught up in this dreadful war.”

Over the weekend, Israel made it clear its military would take “whatever measures necessary” to stop the Madleen from reaching Gaza.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition insisted they were prepared for the possibility of an Israeli attack, especially after Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz warned them to turn back, vowing to act against any attempt to breach the country’s naval blockade.

Following the incident, Morgan further escalated the situation on X by advocating for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) to show the flotilla passengers graphic footage of the horrific October 7 massacre upon their arrival at Ashdod port. He argued that it was “appropriate” for the activists to confront the realities of the atrocities committed by Hamas against innocent civilians, stating, “This is what Israel is fighting to defend itself against.”
