Fans are buzzing with excitement as Graham McTavish, the charismatic star of Outlander, recently opened up about the future of his beloved series alongside co-star Sam Heughan. Reports from the Scottish AsumeTech reveal that the duo has captured the hearts of viewers with their engaging series, Men in KiltA Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, which has already seen two captivating seasons.
The question on everyone’s mind remainwill there be a third season? McTavish, at 65, shared exclusive insights with Reach Screen Time, hinting at the challenges faced during the filming of season two. “Aligning our schedules and finding a location with sunshine proved tricky. That’s why we filmed in New Zealand during their summer months,” he explained.
McTavish left no doubt about his and Heughan’s enthusiasm for a third installment, stating, “We’d both love to do a season three, but it all depends on our availability.â€Â
Expanding on their future projects, McTavish revealed, “While Sam’s off to play Macbeth, I’m busy with two films and a new Starz series, Spartacus, premiering in September.â€Â
Despite the hectic schedule, both stars are determined to make Men in Kilts happen again, eyeing North America for their next adventure. “We want to journey from Nova Scotia down the Eastern Seaboardâ€â€Maine, Virginia, North Carolina, New Yorkâ€â€exploring the remarkable Scottish influence in these areas,†McTavish elaborated.
Since its debut in 2021, Men in Kilts has enchanted audiences, blending Scottish history and culture with breathtaking landscapes. Initially born from the podcast Clanlands, the show quickly evolved into a fan favorite, leading to a successful second season shot in New Zealand.
The dynamic duo’s on-screen chemistry and playful antics have solidified their status as fan favorites. With their companion book, they also offer deeper insights for avid followers of Scottish culture.
However, loyal fans might need to practice some patience. McTavish is currently busy with his Raindance-nominated film Dirty Boy, which has recently premiered in the UK and is set for a cinema release in August.
In this gripping psychological thriller, McTavish takes on the role of Walter Wentworth, a cult leader battling for control over his followers amid dark secrets. He reflects on the sinister nature of the character, even likening him to Jeffrey Epstein.
With his schedule packed, he also mentioned upcoming projects, “I’m heading to Canada in August for one film, and another in New Zealand by the end of October. Each offers exciting and vastly different experiencesâ€â€one’s a Western horror film, and the other is a heartwarming family feature.â€Â
Dirty Boy has its UK Premiere at Raindance Film Festival on June 22 and will hit UK Cinemas on August 22.
