EU energy ministers discuss options for reducing gas demand

Today, EU energy ministers are discussing options on how to jointly curb climate change and reduce gas demand.

The union is struggling under the weight of Russian supply cuts as member states prepare for further shocks that could further disrupt gas supplies next July.

Energy ministers are expected to support the goals proposed by the European Commission last year to obtain 40% of energy from renewable sources and reduce energy consumption by 9% from predicted levels by 2030.
