Excited passengers board the first flight from Heathrow to the US

“Thank God I feel so nervous,” said Bernadette Sumners, 56, of Stratford-on-Avon, England, who took her first flight since the start of the pandemic to visit her daughter in Oregon and her son in New York.

“There are so many things to remember and organize,” she said as she sat on An bench in the departure terminal, as she refreshes her email feed every few minutes while waiting for her negative coronavirus test result. “It’s very stressful, but I know it’s going to be worth it if i have my . see children and meet my grandchildren,” she said, her eyes welling up with tears.

Others were surprised by how The process was organized and fast. “I came four hours asked for give myself good margin for error, but the whole process is super easy and efficient,” says Noah Cunningham, a 46-year-old screenwriter from London, who was on a trip to New York for work.

It’s been two depressing years, we need to die to see bright light and do some retail therapy.”
