Fantasy Injury Updates: Derik Henry, Alexander Matisson, Jordan Howard, More PB Influencing Week 16 Start, Make Decisions

Fantasy football owners already know they will be without Dalvin Cook for their fantasy league games and now Derrick Henry is heading for the exit. We will definitely not know Henry until a decision is made on the game, and that applies to Alexander Mattison on Monday night, too. We know Kerryon Johnson will be back and Jordan Howard is once again extremely unlikely to play, but you can’t complete Week 16 decisions to get started until the official active / inactive reports are released. Fortunately, you’ll be able to find the latest injury updates below.

Derrick Henry playing Week 16?

Henry was not in the original Titans injury report after his full practice on Friday, but was downgraded to “controversial” on Saturday, which many believe will not play against the Saints. It doesn’t help that Tennessee promoted a run behind their practice squad on Saturday, too.

If Henry is active, it will be difficult for him to sit down, but he could see a significantly reduced workload against one of the league’s top defenses. This situation is a complete mess, and it may be easier if Henry is just declared inactive. If that happens, Dion Lewis will probably handle most of the RB touchdowns, and while he would be worth PPR championships, he would be just a FLEX in regular championships given the match.

Alexander Mattison playing Monday night?

Mattison (ankle) missed last week’s game and did nothing all week except participate in individual drills on Saturday, but is still listed as “controversial” for Monday night’s game against Green Bay.

With Dalvin Cook (shoulder) already ruled out, Mattison will be in the line to handle most of his transfer in a very favorable matchup. However, it seems unlikely to play – or at least play an important role – given the lack of time practice in the last two weeks. If that were the case, Mike Boone would act as the lead back and have a potential RB2. The Monday night factor is the killer here, whether you own Mattison or Boone. At this point, Mattison certainly shouldn’t count. Boone should see at least 10 touches even if Mattison is active so you can keep him as FLEX if you don’t really like your other matchups.

Jordan Howard Damage Update

Howard (shoulder) still hasn’t been cleared for touch (as far as we know), so his “questionable” tag for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys doesn’t mean much. He is likely to lose his sixth consecutive game.

Myles Sanders will once again serve as Philadelphia’s head, with Boston Scott working as a back-up. Sanders is an RB2 and Scott has some FLEX value in PPR championships.

Is Kerryon Johnson playing Week 16?

Johnson (knee) has been activated by IR and will play on Sunday against the Broncos. Lions coach Matt Patricia has already said the team will be “smart” in how they use Johnson, which seems to indicate he will only see 10-12 times.

Johnson has not played since Week 7, so it would not be surprising if he was a bit rusty. It’s not an easy matchup either, so Johnson is nothing more than a TD-dependent FLEX in regular championships.
