Fast X: Release Date, Trailer, Plot, Cast, and Everything We Know So Far

Fast X is the 10th movie in the Fast & Furious series. It’s incredible to think about how far these movies have come since they first came out. Starting as a story about a cop going undercover in a street racing gang that was stealing DVD players, the franchise has turned into a story about superheroes who have to save the world many times by doing spectacular stunts in their cars. It’s been a fun ride to get to this point, and it’s no surprise that Fast X fans are excited to see what comes next.

This feeling is made stronger because Fast X is the first part of a two-part ending to a series that has been going on for more than 20 years.  Fast X’s Release Date?

The US and UK are planning to release Fast X on May 19, and most of the world will get it on that day or a few days earlier. The last movie, F9, had one of the most successful runs during the pandemic, so the next film will be in theatres unless something terrible happens. Fast X was supposed to come out in April 2021 but was pushed back because F9 was delayed. Then, it was set to come out on April 7, 2023, but that date has been pushed back.

A long time before the movie, tickets are now on sale.

 Fast X Trailer?

On February 10, 2023, before Super Bowl LVII, the official trailer for Fast X came out. It’s as big, bombastic, and bloated as the franchise itself. The nearly 4-minute trailer shows some new characters, like Jason Momoa’s bad guy Dante, the son of Hernan Reyes, the drug kingpin Dom and his family fought in Fast Five. The trailer also shows Academy Award-winning actress Rita Moreno as Dom and Mia’s grandmother, Abuelita Toretto, and Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson as Tess, who is probably a new member of Dom’s family. The trailer also showed that John Cena’s Jakob Toretto, the main bad guy in the last movie, will now work with his brother Dom, whom he had been fighting with. A cut-down version of the trailer will also be shown during Super Bowl LVII.

Who is Directing Fast X?

The movie was supposed to be directed by Justin Lin, who also handled all of the Fast and Furious films between The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious 6, as well as F9. But the director has left the project since then, reportedly because he disagreed with Vin Diesel.

The latest news says French director Louis Leterrier has taken over from Lin as Fast X’s director. Leterrier is known for movies like The Transporter, The Transporter 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Now You See Me.

What Is the Plot of Fast X?

The official Plot from Universal :

“The end of the road begins. Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast & Furious Saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises, now in its third decade and still going strong with the same core cast and characters as when it began. Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved, and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who are fueled by blood revenge and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves forever. In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew removed nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. They didn’t know that Reyes’ son, Dante (Aquaman’s Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price. Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London, and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged, and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry, Black-ish) is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.”

Since this is the last story, Fast X could focus on the next generation of the crew, like Dom and Brian’s kids. The movie could end with a flash-forward scene showing how those kids grow up to be the following great racer agents, just like their parents. Jordana Brewster has also said she would like to see that happen in the last movies.

If the story goes in that direction, it would be more like a passing of the torch. And if that’s the case, we expect some emotional moments between the crew and their kids as they fight to keep the world safe for them. But that doesn’t answer the question of who is evil.

In the last scene of F9, Deckard Shaw runs into Han again and is surprised to see that he is still alive. In the next movie, Shaw and his family may turn against Dom’s crew again. On the other hand, Cipher was still alive and on the run at the end of F9 so that she could come back as the villain.

Fast X jasen

Fans can expect the family to take on another high-stakes mission with a crazy amount of action, no matter who they’re up against. There’s no telling where this story could go, so we’ll have to buckle up and enjoy the ride.

When and Where Is Fast X Set?

Fast X will pick up where the last movie left off. The story will occur more or less in the present, but there may be flashbacks, like in F9. It’s likely to be a big story that takes the crew worldwide, so you can expect to see many strange places and even stranger cars.
