Michael Mann’s last movie to direct was Blackhat, which came out more than seven years ago. Now, he’s back in a big way with the documentary Ferrari, which is about the businessman Enzo Ferrari. Because Mann has been trying to get this movie made since 2000, it is sure to be one of the most awaited movies of the year. In fact, in a recent interview, Mann said that he has wanted to make the movie since he was a film student of 24 years old.

The important Mille Miglia race and Ferrari’s participation in it will be the main focus of the company. In 1957, this 1,000-mile open-road endurance race went all the way across Italy. The movie shows the last leg of the race. After a Ferrari driven by Alfonso de Portago blew a tire and crashed into the crowd, the race couldn’t go on. Nine people, including five children, the ship’s captain Edmund Nelson, and Portago himself, died in the accident.

What Is the Release Date for Ferrari?

Ferrari was first made by STX Entertainment, which later became a part of the Indian media company ErosSTX. Because of this marriage, STX will no longer be a distributor. Instead, it will only make movies. This meant that the long-awaited biography couldn’t be shown with the new Guy Ritchie movie Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.

In July 2023, it was reported that the film would be shown in the US by the independent distributor Neon, which is known for movies like Parasite, I Tonya, Triangle of Sadness, and The Worst Person in the World.

Mann is used to working with big companies, but he is happy that the film is being distributed by an independent company like Neon.

“The origins of the movie and the content of the screenplay and the movie that you saw do not fit into the kind of film that would be embraced by the conventional studio system. It’s truly appropriate that it is an independent film being distributed by NEON, a very independent distributor.”

The movie will be shown in theaters all over on December 25, 2023, which is Christmas Day. The movie will come out at the same time as a musical version of The Color Purple from Warner Bros. and a movie about sports called The Boys in the Boat, which was directed by George Clooney and was made by MGM.

The movie will be shown for the first time in the world at the 80th Venice Film Festival, which runs from August 30 to September 9. The film will be shown at the same time as other highly awaited movies like Maestro by Bradley Cooper and The Killer by David Fincher.

Ferrari won’t only be shown at the Venice Film Festival. It was just reported that the North American Premiere of the movie will be at the New York Film Festival on the last night of the festival.

A summary of the movie says that it will be about “the life of Italian race car driver and businessman Enzo Ferrari in 1957 as he deals with family problems and gets ready for the 1957 Mille Miglia.” Ferrari follows the car business owner as he deals with problems at work and in his personal life. Some of these problems are getting divorced from his wife, going bankrupt, and the stress of being in charge of a group of drivers in the Mille Miglia. It’s possible that the movie will show the hard-fought court case that happened after the terrible accident that ended the race for good. Ferrari was charged with killing because the car that broke down was made by him. To find out what happened to Ferrari, you’ll have to watch the movie. The story is based on a book called Enzo Ferrari—The Man, The Cars, The Races, and the Machine that the late author and writer Brock Yates wrote in 1991. Yates liked racing a lot, and he knew a lot about it because he had been a pit reporter for NASCAR on CBS. He also ran the famous Cannonball Run race and was the host of the racing show American Sports Cavalcade on TNN. For people who don’t know much about racing, the Cannonball Run is an illegal race that starts in New York and ends in Los Angeles. The same name was given to a movie that Yates wrote and directed.

In an interview with Variety, Mann said that the movie will have a lot more blood than people might think. For example, there will be a scene about a car crash involving one of the Ferrari racers, with explicit details like limbs and torsos being cut off.
