FIFA announces the definitive list of the best managers of 2021

The International Football Association “FIFA” has announced the final list of nominees for the award for the best manager in the world for the year 2021, less than two weeks before the official announcement of the winner of the award.

Three coaches in competing for the prize: the Italian Roberto Mancini, coach of the Italian national team, the Spanish Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, and the German Thomas Tuchel, manager of Chelsea.

Roberto Mancini, 57, led the Italian national team to the title of the European Nations Cup “Euro 2020”, which took place last summer, in 12 different European cities.

While 50-year-old Pep Guardiola managed to take Manchester City to absolute control of the English Premier League title, and reached the team all the way to the Champions League final before losing the final to Chelsea.

Germany’s Jurgen Klopp, manager of the Liverpool team, has won the award as the best manager in the world for the past two years.

Last year, Klopp overtook both his compatriot Hans Flick, former Bayern Munich manager and current German international, and Argentinian Marcelo Bielsa, manager of Leeds United.

Last season, Klopp led Liverpool to win the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.

While Thomas Tuchel, 48, led Chelsea to win the Champions League and the European Super Cup for the second time in their history.

The winners of “The Best FIFA Football Awards” will be announced at a ceremony organized by FIFA on January 17, 2022.
