Yesterday, Tuesday and before the end of the summer professional registration period, the intense efforts of the club Al-Ahly to sign a key player, as well as a left-back, received a blow, with the decision to stop him from registering with FIFA. The professional registration period for the season is closed on Tuesday evening in course. The management of the club of Al-Ahly, led by Majed Al-Nafie, was looking to sign a central player and a local right-back. Yesterday, Tuesday, the club received the FIFA decision to prevent him from registering, after a sentence was handed down in two cases with the shares of the Swiss Christian Gross and the Serbian Vladan. Gross filed an official complaint with FIFA against Al-Ahly for not receiving his salaries in delay and the penalty clause, which amounted to 6 million Saudi riyals, while the latest payment deadline was July 18, 2020. Vladan also filed a complaint with FIFA for not having received salaries in delay and a penalty clause of over 9 million riyals.
According to legal sources, the decisions of the Player Status Committee will not enter in force up to approximately 45 days later, in in particular the decisions relating to the payment of the delay in the payment of the economic quotas together with the sanction for the impediment of registration. These decisions take on definitive value, in case of non-payment continued and after the expiry of tale period of time.
