A Final Fantasy 16 Musical Announced

The all-female theatre troupe Takarazuka Revue will be performing a Final Fantasy 16 musical. The tickets for this show will go on sale in April and the performance will take place in late 2024.

Previous Kabuki Show

Earlier this year, there was a Final Fantasy X-themed Kabuki show.

Series Milestone

Square Enix has proudly announced that the Final Fantasy series has reached over 180 million shipments and downloads worldwide.

Live Orchestral Performances

Square has collaborated with various orchestras in recent years to perform live renditions of the soundtracks from several Final Fantasy games.

Impressive Sales

Within the first week of availability, Final Fantasy 16 has shipped and digitally sold 3 million copies, according to publisher Square Enix. This places it on par with the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which sold around 3.5 million copies in ten days.

Fastest-Selling Entry

While Final Fantasy 16 has achieved impressive sales, its predecessor Final Fantasy 15 holds the title for the fastest-selling entry in the series. Back in November 2016, it shipped and sold digitally a total of 5 million units across multiple platforms. It’s worth noting that Final Fantasy 16 is a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

AsumeTech’s Review

AsumeTech’s Final Fantasy 16 review describes the game as an incredible action RPG with stunning visuals and music. However, there is a sense that it lacks some of the core RPG identity that defines the series. It is an amazing experience when played as a straightforward action game, but those looking for a more immersive RPG experience may feel unsatisfied.
