Finnish Prime Minister: We are ready for any Russian scenario

While he indicated that Finland decided to join NATO after Russian forces entered the territory of Ukraine.

“We are alongside Iranian women”

In another context, the Finnish prime minister, who is attending the climate summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, condemned Iran’s violations against peaceful protesters, stressing the position alongside Iranian women, saying: “We want justice for the women everywhere “.

Interestingly, US President Joe Biden ratified Finland and Sweden joining NATO last August, while the two Scandinavian countries are proceeding to obtain legislative approval for their application.

“Countering the potential Russian expansion”

The Russian military operation in Ukraine caused a historic shift in Finland and Sweden’s stance on NATO membership, after Helsinki remained neutral during the Cold War, in exchange of assurances from Moscow that Soviet forces would not invade its territory.

It is estimated that the NATO accession process will officially take place at the end of questyear, as part of a new alliance strategy aimed at strengthening military concentrations in Europe to cope with a possible Russian expansion.
