Fire destroys Caribbean holiday island in Honduras of Guanaja | Honduras

An enormous fire destroyed of damaged more over 200 homes and businesses on the Honduran island of Guanaja on Saturday, leaving hundreds of residents to flee for safety and destroying the tourism-dependent resort, emergency services said.

Dramatic video footage shared on social media showed rows of seaside houses flooded in flames and wooden homes collapsing in Guanaja, a Caribbean island about 77 km (44 miles) off the north coast of Honduras.

Guanaja is one of the country’s three picturesque Bay Islands, where snorkelers and divers come to spot dolphins and big Coral reef.
