Fortnite Update 25.20: Futurama Characters Added

Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite, has officially announced the release of a new update for various platforms including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch. The much-awaited Fortnite update 25.20 is set to be launched on July 26th at 9 am BST in the UK. While the release has been slightly delayed, it is expected to bring the usual gameplay tweaks and bug fixes, as well as introduce characters from the popular Futurama series. The announcement was recently made by Epic Games via Twitter, where fans were given a teaser of what they can anticipate from the update.

“Embrace the future in 25.20,” the tweet read. “Downtime begins at 4 AM ET with matchmaking disabled shortly beforehand.”

It’s important to note that matchmaking will be disabled at approximately 8.30 am BST, meaning that players won’t be able to join a game until the downtime is over. The servers are expected to come back online at around 11 am BST, allowing players to jump right back into the game as soon as the update is installed.

Epic Games also confirmed in a subsequent tweet that Siphon, a popular feature among Fortnite players, won’t be returning to most Fortnite tournaments. “With the release of the v25.20 game update tomorrow, we’ll be keeping Siphon enabled for the rest of FNCS Major 3 and Last Chance Major and returning all other Fortnite tournaments to their previous game settings without Siphon,” the tweet stated.

The latest update for the game has brought with it a thrilling crossover with the beloved animated series, Futurama. Fans can expect to see their favorite characters, including Fry, Bender, and Leela, featured as playable skins. Reports suggest that players will also be able to purchase additional items such as the Mind-Control Parasite Backbling for Fry, and the Nibbler Backbling for Leela. Excitement is building as fans eagerly anticipate the reveal of more items during the downtime. In addition to the Futurama crossover, update 25.20 brings with it the return of the Kinetic Boomerang, a range of new shop items, and the August Crew Pack. Players can expect to see plenty of exciting new features and content to explore in this update.

• Character may be invisible in the Lobby

– Some players may find that their character is invisible in the Fortnite lobby

LOCKER

• Scrolling past Mjolnir’s Flight glider in the locker may cause the game to crash

– Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X may crash out of Fortnite when scrolling past Mjolnir’s Flight glider in their locker.

• Multiple outfits may appear shiny/glossy

– Multiple outfits, including Skull Trooper may appear shiny/glossy.

• Sound effects missing from the Maxx Axe Pickaxe

– The Maxx Axe Pickaxe sound effects can no longer be heard despite the sound volume setting.

• Meow Skulls is missing her tail

– Meow Skulls appears to be missing her tail when any Back Bling is equipped with the outfit.

RANKED

• Players may not be given full weapon damage credit for some Ranked quests

– Players may have delayed credit toward the “Damage Opponents” Ranked quest or may find that the full weapon damage is not credited toward a Ranked quest.
