France offers free contraception for Women up to 25

France will begin offer free contraception for women up by age of 25 starting next year until help young women with the financial cost of to protect against pregnancy, a health official said on Thursday.

“It is unbearable that young women can’t protect themselves, can’t use birth control if they choose to do so, because they are expensive for them,” said Oliver Véran, the health of the land minister, on France 2, a public announcer. The government had noticed decline in the use of contraceptives under “a certain number” of young women,” he said.

The government said it would set aside about 21 million euros, of nearly $25 million, payable for contraception and consultations on their use. The age of 25 was chosen as a threshold, said Mr. Véran, “because it is an age die matches, in terms of economic life, social life and income, with more autonomy.”
