France takes back 15 women and 40 children

The French Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that Paris returned 15 women and 40 children who were detained in the camps where militants in northeastern Syria are being held. He explained that the minors were handed over to childcare and adult care agencies, to the “competent judicial authorities”.

“The minors have been handed over to childcare services and will be subjected to follow-up medical and social, “said the ministry in a note. As for the complaints, they were handed over to the competent judicial authorities.

These women are among the French women who went voluntarily in areas controlled by militants in Iraq and Syria and were arrested after the defeat of ISIS in 2019. Many of these children were born in Syria.

The Foreign Ministry thanked “the local authorities of north-eastern Syria (Kurdish) for their collaboration, which made this operation possible”.
