France threatens to sue in Great Britain in the European courts for the dispute over the fisheries areas

On Thursday, France threatened to sue in Great Britain in the European courts for the dispute over the fishing areas.

France argues that Britain is not honoring an agreement post-Brexit on access to British fisheries e in earlier it said it would implement sanctions including tightening truck controls from Britain and preventing British fishing vessels from docking in French ports.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently confirmed Britain’s firm stance in the fisheries dispute with France after it was reported from Paris on sanctions on the matter.

French President Emmanuel Macron said his government has delayed the implementation of sanctions against Britain in a fishing dispute until late Tuesday as the two sides discuss new proposals to resolve the dispute.

Macron told reporters on the sidelines of the UN climate conference in Glasgow, in Scotland, last month that “discussions resumed on Monday afternoon on the basis of a proposal I made to Prime Minister Boris Johnson. It is necessary to continue the talks.”
