France’s Lorient announces that 12 of his players and coaching staff have contracted the Corona virus

Lorient announced on Tuesday the increase to 8 in the number of its players infected with Covid-19, as well as four technical staff workers.

And after that the club revealed last week that six players were injured, indicated two new players and four coaching and coaching staff workers were injured. Lorient did not disclose the names of the injured, but according to the newspaper “Ouest France”, coach Christophe Pelissier was not present at training on Tuesday morning.

After being knocked out of the French Cup in December, Lorient is looking to resume his season in championship on Saturday when he travels to Lille. The last match of Lorient in championship ended in a 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain on 22 December.

On the other hand, Lille, who are expected to go to Lens on Tuesday evening to play the first round of the French Cup, have announced that seven of their players have been injured. According to the protocol of the French League, the club he can request the postponement of his game if he is not in able to secure a minimum of 20 players from its official list of 30 players, i.e. if 11 players are injured at the same time. Lorient was forced to postpone two games at the same time last year due to contagion of 12 players in his ranks with the Corona virus.
