Game Pass Core: Microsoft Introduces a New Online Gaming Service with 36 Games
Again and again
Withdrawn since September 1, 2023, Xbox Live Gold, the online gaming service which made Microsoft consoles the heyday, finally finds son replacement with Game Pass Core. This is not a simple change of name as we might have envisaged, since there are real differences between the two proposals. Except the price, which remains stuck at 6.99 euros per month with us, or 59.99 euros per year. The thing to remember is that in addition to allowing online play and the usual discounts on the Microsoft Store, the Game Pass Core gives access to a catalog of 36 games already present in the Game Pass.
The Redmond firm warns that new titles will be added 2 to 3 times a year, but for the moment, the arrival of big games in day one is excluded. As a reminder, all current Xbox Live Gold members automatically become Xbox Game Pass Core subscribers starting today. Game Pass Console (10.99 euros/month), PC (9.99 euros/month) and Ultimate (14.99 euros/month) obviously still remain available.
The list
So far, we know of the existence of 25 titles that are part of the digital vault. Microsoft took advantage of the launch of son service to add 11 games, thus forming a list of 36 software total.
By harmonizing all of its offers under the Game Pass name, Microsoft intends to benefit from several positive effects. The first comes from the boost in Game Pass subscribers which it will be able to congratulate itself on in its results, since it will add up the GP and Gold subscribers. THE second is based on encouraging users to try the Ultimate offer, which is more expensive but has more features.
