A quiet place had a dark science fiction ending and one that didn’t require continuation. But John Krasinski’s horror film is also worth over $ 340 million worldwide, making it instant franchise material.
The first trailer for A Quiet Place Part II takes us back to a very quiet world, swamped by winged creatures that attack the quietest sound. A sparse teaser previously revealed the Abbott family’s return.

The sequel begins shortly after the original, when the Abbott family rallies after the death of their father (Krasinski) and the discovery that high-frequency noise hurts the fearsome creatures. Emily Blunt repeats her role as Evelyn Abbott, with Millicent Simonds as daughter Regan and Noah Jape as son Marcus. Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) are among the other survivors who may be friends or not.
Although most of the details of the plot are kept secret, the film is said to focus on the growing Abbott children. A Quiet Place Part II was originally scheduled for the May release date and extended until March 20, 2020.
