Apex Legends Breakout Update: Detailed Patch Notes and Game Updates
BREAKOUT MAP ROTATION
- In this season’s Breakout update, players will have access to the following maps in both Trios and Duos modes:
1. Olympus
2. Storm Point
3. World’s Edge
PERFORMANCE MODE: 120HZ
- For players using PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X with 120Hz displays, a new “Performance” mode option has been added to the Video Settings menu. This mode targets 120 FPS performance by optimizing content and reducing visual quality. By utilizing a new multithreaded rendering system, the game can fully utilize the capabilities of modern hardware and lay the foundation for future improvements to the rendering engine.
CRAFTING
- The Breakout update brings a complete rework to the Crafting system, streamlining it for a better experience. Replicators now have a new paint job and have become free to use, eliminating the need for crafting materials. Crafting rotations have also been removed. The available options in the crafting menu have been reduced to Shield Battery, Medkit, Ammo, and Player Banners.
- To balance the single-use system, the number of available Replicators has been increased. Each game will now start with 12 Replicators spawned at the beginning, with an additional Replicator airdrop at the start of Round 4. Some quality of life changes have also been made, such as decreased interaction time with Replicators, accessing the inventory from the crafting menu, and auto-ejection of printed items from Replicators after a certain time.
WORLD’S EDGE: RAMPART’S BIG MAUDE
- With the removal of crafting materials, Rampart needed a new way to attract customers to her shop. In the Big Maude area on World’s Edge, all paintball weapons are now free but have an increased dispensing time. However, players can only claim one free weapon per match. Loba can still use her Black Market ability to steal a second gun. While there is an increased variety of weapons available, gold kitted weapons are no longer offered at Big Maude.
LEGEND UPGRADES
- A new Legend Upgrade system has been introduced in the Breakout update for Battle Royale modes. This in-match progression system allows players to customize their Legend according to their playstyle. By gaining EVO points, players can level up their armor and unlock unique ability upgrades at Levels 2 and 3. This adds a new level of strategy and meta to each match.
Below are the Legend Upgrade options for each Legend:
1. Conduit:
- Level 2 Upgrade Options: Battery Collection, Radiant Transfer
- Level 3 Upgrade Options: Bigger Jam, Split Charge
2. Gibraltar:
