Avicii Invector takes you on a musical journey through six different worlds illuminated with fantastic colors, wondrous sights and 24 of Avicii’s greatest titles. They glide, float and race through every music track, have the task of hitting the beat, wiping out every fade and wrapping themselves in every world and track – the goal: hold the beat and rock hard for this high score.
We were fortunate enough to work with Tim “Avicii” Bergling on this game while he was still with us – the mission: Take some of Avicii’s biggest hits, throw them into a highly visual experience and let the people die Soul of every stroke feel and fade.
During our time with Tim, it was clear that he understood music, rhythm games and the world of games in general. Like an exciting kid at Christmas, he wanted to push his arms deep into every corner to bring his project to life. There were hours spent testing every game mechanic, every musical phrase, and even the order in which the tracks were played and their placement in each world.
Our world was frozen the day we heard that Tim had died, and it was a hard time for all involved – this wonderful man had spent hours with us, laughed, won, lost, and had a radiant presence . now he was path .
After some time, we learned that Tim’s father and his team founded the Tim Bergling Foundation, a charitable organization focused on recognizing suicide as a medical emergency and financing support for people with mental health problems.
To support the charity’s wonderful work, we went back to the game to finish what Tim had started with us. We decided to get back into the mix, rework the graphics and mechanics and add a new world to the game that Tim should remember, and add several tracks from his posthumous album “Tim” to the game.
25% of all Avicii Invector revenue is donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation, with an additional donation per unit from Hello There Games Wired Productions to Safe in Our World. a charity that promotes a positive awareness of mental health and support in the world of games.
