Baldur’s Gate 3 Wins Big at Game Developers Choice Awards!

Baldur’s Gate 3, the popular game based on Dungeons & Dragons, took home the Game of the Year prize at the 24th annual Game Developers Choice Awards. Larian Studios’ game also won Best Narrative, Best Design, and the Audience Award at the ceremony held at GDC 2024 in San Francisco.

Other winners included Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for the Innovation and Best Technology Awards, and Visai Games’ Venba for the Best Debut and Social Impact Awards.

Japanese composer Yoko Shimomura received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her work on games like Super Mario RPG and Kingdom Hearts, while Fawzi Mesmar, the VP of global creative at Ubisoft, received the Ambassador Award for his contributions to franchises like Battlefield and Candy Crush.

Larian CEO Swen Vincke expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “Congratulations to all the nominees and other winners! And thank you – it’s a great honor to see our work recognized by your peers.”
