A special digital Jim Ryan bobblehead has been released to celebrate his impressive 30-year career at PlayStation.
You can get this collectible through Sony’s digital platform PlayStation Stars by playing a game that Ryan has championed during his time at the company.
“Help us honor Jim Ryan’s legacy at PlayStation by playing one of the amazing games he supported as CEO and receive a special Digital Collectible. Congratulations on your retirement, Jim!” says the description for the item.
The eligible games include Gran Turismo 7, Marvel’s Spider-man 2, God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Destiny 2.
Sony announced in September that Ryan has decided to retire in March 2024 after nearly three decades with PlayStation.
In his statement, Ryan mentioned the challenges of balancing his personal life in Europe with his professional responsibilities in North America.
“After 30 years, I have decided to retire from SIE in March 2024. It has been a privilege to work for a company I love, with great people and partners. However, the distance between Europe and North America has become increasingly difficult to manage,” he said.
Ryan has been in charge of the PlayStation business since 2019, overseeing the successful launch of the PS5.
With almost 20 years at Sony’s PlayStation division, he previously led SIE’s European business and global marketing.
Despite some controversial statements in the past, such as questioning the appeal of older PlayStation games in 2017, Ryan’s contributions to PlayStation are undeniable.
