Dead by Daylight Update 7.5.0: Game Updates and Patch Notes
Features
Field of View Settings
- In the latest update for Dead by Daylight (DbD), players now have the ability to adjust their field-of-view (FOV) with a new slider in the Settings Menu. This feature is particularly useful for players who use a first-person camera, such as the Killers (excluding The Good Guy). The FOV adjustment helps reduce motion sickness and other accessibility issues. Initially, this feature will be in the Beta Tab to allow for thorough testing.
FOV Perk Updates
- Two perks in DbD have received updates related to the field of view:
1. Shadowborn: When a player is blinded by any means, they now gain a Haste Status Effect of 6/8/10% for 10 seconds. This new functionality helps players mitigate the effects of blindness.
2. Monitor and Abuse: This perk now has a revised effect. While in a chase, the Killer’s Terror Radius is increased by 8 meters. Outside of a chase, the Killer’s Terror Radius is decreased by 8 meters. The FOV clause has been removed from this perk.
Generators System Update
- The 3-gen strategy, which involves identifying the closest 3 generators and defending only those, has become quite strong, causing long and frustrating games for some players, especially with certain Killers. To address this, the following changes have been implemented:
1. Each Generator can now only suffer a maximum of 8 regression events.
2. Once a Generator reaches the maximum number of regressions, it cannot be further regressed by the Killer, including kicks, Add-ons, and Perk-related regressions.
3. The number of regressions per Generator is indicated by increasing visual effects after 3 or more regression events.
4. Generators at max regression events cannot regress anymore by the Killer.
5. Survivors failing Skill Checks will still regress Generators normally and do not count as regression events.
6. The Killer kick regression has been increased from 2.5% to 5%.
7. “Gen tapping” is no longer possible. Survivors must now repair 5% of a Generator to stop it from regressing.
8. Regression no longer occurs while repairs are in progress.
Perks Affected:
- Hex: Ruin: All Generators are affected by Hex: Ruin, and while a Generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress repair progress at 50%/75%/100% of the normal regression speed. This perk no longer deactivates when a Survivor is killed.
- Surge and Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance: These perks no longer create a loud noise notification if no progress is lost on the Generator.
- Oppression: This perk now only causes a regression event on the Generator that was kicked.
- Overcharge: Only the initiating kick now counts as a regression event.
Content
- Nowhere to Hide Perk and The Knight Killer have been re-enabled.
New Survivor – Alan Wake
- Dead by Daylight introduces a famous new Survivor into The Fog – Alan Wake!
Perks:
- Champion of Light: While holding a Flashlight, this Perk activates. When shining a flashlight, the Survivor gains 50% Haste. Additionally, when the Survivor successfully blinds the Killer, the Killer also gains a Hindered effect of 20% for 6 seconds. This Perk cannot stack with itself and goes on cool-down for 80/70/60 seconds.
- Boon: Illumination: By pressing and holding the Ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem, the Survivor can bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes ring out in a 24-meter range. Survivors within the Boon Totem’s range can see the aura of all Chests and Generators in blue. If the Survivor has a lit Boon Totem, Totems can be cleansed or blessed 6/8/10% faster. Only one Totem can be blessed at a time, and all equipped Boon Perks are active on the Boon Totem.
- Deadline: This Perk activates when the Survivor is injured. Skill Checks appear 6/8/10% more frequently during repairing or healing and appear in random places. The penalty for missing Skill Checks is reduced by 50%.
