Die Gute Fabrik, the studio behind Saltsea Chronicles, Where Is My Heart?, Sportsfriends, and Mutazione, is sadly disbanding. The Copenhagen-based indie studio made the announcement on social media, revealing that they had to stop production and let go of their team due to struggles in securing funding for future projects.
Having been in the gaming industry for over 25 years, Die Gute Fabrik expressed how tough the current publishing and investment landscape is for companies like theirs. They paused production on February 19th, giving their team a month of paid time off to regroup. While they will continue to support their existing games, the studio’s leadership team will be seeking new opportunities.
There is still hope for a comeback if funding is secured in the future, with CEO Nils Deneken potentially leading the charge once again. The team expressed gratitude for the support over the years and remains proud of the games they have created.
Die Gute Fabrik’s talented collaborators may reunite if production resumes, but for now, they are on the lookout for new roles. Thank you for playing our games, and stay tuned for any updates on our future endeavors.
