Attention Super Mario Maker fans! Every single community-uploaded level in the game has officially been beaten before the upcoming end of its online functionality.

Super Mario Maker is set to go offline, along with all other Wii U and 3DS games, on April 8, 2024. But before that happens, a dedicated group of players banded together to conquer the few remaining unbeaten levels in the game.

In Super Mario Maker, creators must be able to beat their own levels before they can upload them to ensure they are fair and playable. While most levels had been beaten by multiple players before the shutdown, one final level called “Trimming The Herbs” had proven to be a major challenge.

After weeks of trying, the creator of the level confessed that they had used TAS software to create it. TAS software allows for perfect inputs in a level, making it incredibly difficult to beat without the same precision.

Since “Trimming The Herbs” was not beaten legitimately by its creator, it was deemed an illegitimate upload. However, this means that the community’s goal of beating every level in the game has been achieved.

Online services for the Wii U and 3DS will officially end on April 8 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET / 12am (April 9) GMT. Nintendo had already shut down the eShops for these systems in March 2023, but players were still able to access online features within games like online multiplayer and rankings.

Even after the online services are gone, players can still enjoy their games offline. Nintendo has also confirmed that Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter will continue to have online functionality, as they are still widely used by players and rely on online connectivity.
