Developed by EA Sports and set for release on 30 September 2022 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia, FIFA 30 is the series’ final installment.
The decades-old title will no longer be a part of the gaming landscape due to the agreement between EA Sports and FIFA ending, which means that FIFA 23 will serve as the concluding installment in the series. It comes with many new improvements, such as more Ultimate Team challenges and more opportunities for women to play the game.
The World Cup in Qatar starts only six weeks after the release of FIFA, which means that fans will be able to enjoy early DLC. If you plan on paying close attention to the World Cup, then the following information regarding the anticipated DLC is essential at your disposal.
The World Cup mode is one of the most exciting ones. Qatar’s official teams and stadiums will be part of the base game. That means that teams like Colombia and Bolivia will be back in FIFA. They were left out of FIFA 22 because the international section was cut way back. Even fans of Iran, who are a long shot according to the odds at Ladbrokes, can be led to the final in the official World Cup mode. But much of the fun comes from being able to control the best players in the world, and that’s where the World Cup mode will shine. Favorites like Brazil and France will probably have better players in Ultimate Team mode. This means that the World Cup mode will generally change how you play. Ultimate Team also usually has a special mode for the World Cup, so you can use Iran’s players even if you’re not trying to get them out of their group.
In a unique take on the World Cup theme, EA Sports and Marvel worked together to make a new set of legends cards related to the event. At first, there will be five heroes, such as Park Ji-sung, Landon Donovan, and Yaya Toure. They’ll be illustrated cards instead of photos of the players, and they’ll come with the game’s base version. But once the World Cup DLC comes out, they’ll be stronger, and you’ll be able to add them to your Ultimate Team.

GERD MÜLLER
A truly prolific striker, Gerd Müller had an astonishing record in front of goal that more than earned him ICON status. The German striker broke Bundesliga records for fun: most career goals, most hat tricks, most top scorer crowns, and most goals in a season, to name just a few. He did it on the international stage, too, with an incredible 68 goals in just 62 games for West Germany, including the Golden Boot after 10 goals at the FIFA World Cup 1970™ in Mexico. That was followed four years later by the winning goal in the final at his home stadium in Munich that saw him become the highest FIFA World Cup™ scorer of all time, a title he held for 32 years before being surpassed by Ronaldo Nazário in 2006. An all-time great of the game, Müller’s legacy and legend live on through his records that only a handful of players have ever come close to touching.
XABI ALONSO
Midfielders don’t come much more elegant than Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard’s remarkable technique and ability to pick out his teammates led to his hallmark – a raking, pinpoint long pass from deep that put the ball on a plate for the attacker. It was a talent he used on multiple occasions to send the ball over the keeper’s head and into the goal from behind the halfway line. Alonso was the midfield heartbeat of some of the biggest teams in Europe and picked up the trophies to match. He scored the equalizing goal at Liverpool in the legendary 2005 UEFA Champions League Final, then won another at Real Madrid. That’s not to mention an FA Cup, two Copa del Reys, a LaLiga title, three Bundesligas, and a decisive role in winning Spain’s first-ever FIFA World Cup™ trophy. The work of a true ICON.
JAIRZINHO
Brazil’s FIFA World Cup 1970™ squad is considered one of the best international teams to set foot on a football pitch. At that tournament, Jairzinho did something no player had ever done before and has never done since – scoring in every FIFA World Cup™ finals match from the group stage to the final as Brazil lifted the Jules Rimet trophy for the third time. As he was called, the Hurricane was a proven goalscorer from the wing with pace to burn and a frightening mix of strength and dribbling ability that took him past defenders with ease, followed by pinpoint finishing that goalkeepers couldn’t do much to stop. His second goal against Czechoslovakia in 1970 shows all that makes Jairzinho the ICON that he is: combining power and speed to drive past three defenders before rounding things off with a precise finish into the bottom corner. In a nation known for its skillful wingers, Jairzinho is undoubtedly one of the Seleção’s finest.

It has been rumored that a small number of Icons have been demoted to the Heroes card type. Because of this, the Icon collection may become more exclusive in the near future, reserved only for the very best of the best.
FIFA 23 – FUT 23 REMOVED ICONS
A few Icons have been taken out of FIFA 23 from FIFA 22. Some of these changes have been explained, while others do not. Here is a full list of the Icons that were taken out of FIFA 23:

Nakata and Okocha have been explicitly changed to Heroes in the two most obvious places. Because of problems outside of the game, Overmars and Maradona were taken out of FIFA 22. One can assume that Giggs has joined Maradona and Overmars in this group, but it is less clear about the other three Icons.
It is highly likely that all of the FIFA Ultimate Team Hero cards previously available in FIFA 22 will be carried over into FIFA 23 and remain in use. The one and the only reason that certain special cards, such as Icons or Heroes, do not carry over is that there is either some controversy surrounding them, as we probably will see with Diego Maradonna or that they are actively involved in politics, as was the case with George Weah. This is the only reason that special cards, such as Icons or Heroes, do not carry over.

However, a couple of new FIFA 23 Heroes are being added to the game, which is good news. These heroes are, we hope, just a preview of what we will see in the days and weeks leading up to the game’s release.
In addition, since a FIFA 23 World Cup game mode has been confirmed, it is only natural that Ultimate Team content will accompany it, and the FUT Heroes are directly related to that. EA has announced that an additional special World Cup-based FUT Hero card will be released for each of the currently available Hero cards in the game. Along with the new card design, some stat boosts may also be included in this update.
We have not yet discovered the specifics of this new World Cup Hero card. Still, it could include features such as links to other potential World Cup cards, strong links to players from their country rather than league, or possibly boosts based on specific World Cup moments.
