The end is near for Crash Team Rumble as the final content update is on the horizon. When players fire up the game, they will see a message confirming that next week will bring the last batch of new content.
Although the support for new content is ending, the online team-based competitive platformer will still be available to play. In addition, a new Battle Pass will be introduced, packed with all the goodies from the previous three seasons.
The official statement reveals that March 4, 2024, will mark the final content update for Crash Team Rumble. Players can look forward to a free 500-tier Battle Pass containing 104 new items, including content from Seasons 1 through 3 and event rewards.
Furthermore, Crash Coin purchases will no longer be available, but players can use their remaining Crash Coins to purchase tier skips for the Battle Pass.
Since its release in June 2023, Crash Team Rumble has had a varied reception and struggled to gain widespread popularity. The news of its final content update coincides with developer Toys For Bob’s announcement of their independence from Activision after 19 years.
The California studio, known for its work on Skylanders, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Call of Duty games, was acquired by Activision in 2005. However, in a recent statement by studio heads Paul Yan and Avery Lodato, it was revealed that Toys For Bob will now be operating as an independent studio.
