Get Ready for August 2025’s Exciting PlayStation Plus Games

August 2025 PlayStation Plus Titles Unveiled

Sony Interactive Entertainment has just dropped the first wave of PlayStation Plus games for August 2025. This month introduces a trio of titles that promise to keep players engaged and entertained.

Get ready for the dark fantasy action of Lies of P available on both PS5 and PS4. Also, brace yourself for the survival challenges of Day Z and the 3D arena excitement of My Hero One’s Justice 2, both for PS4. These titles will be up for grabs until September 2, after which a fresh selection will take their place.

While Day Z and My Hero One’s Justice 2 are tailored for PS4, PS5 owners can still join in the action thanks to backward compatibility.

What’s Changing in PlayStation Plus?

In an interesting twist, Sony has signaled a major shift in its PlayStation Plus offerings. As the brand moves further into the PS5 era, the inclusion of PS4 titles will gradually wane. Adam Michel, the global content director for PlayStation subscription services, dropped some insights earlier this year, announcing that starting January 2026, PS4 games will be a rare treat in the monthly line-up.

“We may still provide titles that can be playable on both PS4 and PS5 consoles after this date,” Michel noted, which means some crossover will still exist. However, as stated by Nick Maguire, PlayStation’s vice president of global services, the strategy will remain focused on generating excitement for games 12 to 18 months post-launch rather than debuting first-party titles day-and-date on PlayStation Plus.

This evolving strategy underscores Sony’s aim to refine how they engage with subscribers, ensuring that the games offered strike a balance between fresh, exciting titles and those with proven longevity in the gaming market.
