Gleamlight is a novel platformer, which is on its way to the Nintendo Switch in early 2020. Designed by DICO and released by D3 platform adventure game looks like stained glass. The title was announced today during the Nintendo Indie World presentation.
“Gleamlight is an original game that tells a quiet and mysterious story in an artistic world with a stained glass motif,” said Hidekazu Nakajima, the producer of the game on D3, during Nintendo’s presentation. “In a world like this, the player becomes a single sword and fights against powerful enemies with the help of children to uncover the secrets of the world.”
Strangely, the game will not contain a proper UI. The voice talking about the short demo said the game would instead adapt to the players’ actions to bring them the right information in the right context at the right time.

Fans of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will recognize DICO. After years of contracting and localization work, the team was included in the project after completing the Kickstarter campaign. Originally released in 2017, Bloodstained encountered production delays and immediate cancellations on some releases. The reviews are patchy after the release of Bloodstained this summer on Windows PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was released by 505 Games.
