On the edge of Asgard and Midgard stands a god with incomparable senses. From this point of view, he sees and hears important things from all nine areas. Heimdallr has built great wisdom from this power and lives in solitude to stay true to his cause: Prevent intruders from invading Asgard.
Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, tries to manipulate Yggdrasil herself to carry out her plans. When her journey is over, Heimdallr sees her standing high in his post. He will stop at nothing to protect Yggdrasil, and the final battle of the Underworld Odyssey will soon take place.
Heimdall’s main themes are vision and the use of legendary objects. Heimdallr has several abilities related to the benefits of seeing in-game, and all of his abilities are based on legendary Nordic mythology items. For example, Heimdallr’s “Piercing Sight” ability conjures his legendary sword Hofuð into the sky, and his radiant light reveals enemies that are close to Heimdallr, even if they are behind walls. After a few seconds, the sword crashes and deals damage to enemies.
This was not enough for us to tie things together and build a complete God Kit in Smite. That’s why we’ve broadened this topic to that of a precise ranged character. Someone with skills like Heimdallr would certainly have a perfect finish, which led us to the Hunter class. We have used Heimdallr’s unique skills and far-reaching mythology to rediscover hunters. He wears heavier armor and hurls heavy axes. He strengthens a traditionally agile role.
Hunters in Smite often have ranged damage capability, self-reinforcement, and some form of mobility. We specifically tried to avoid this combination with Heimdallr, the first hunter in Smite who has a unique basic attack range with reach. These attacks switch between Ranged Combat columns and a single-hit with higher damage.
Heimdallr may also gain a view of areas of the map in ways other than wards. Up to three of his abilities can grant him view bonuses, and some can even see hidden enemies. Finally, Heimdallr has a movement ability that allows him to teleport via the mythical bifrost bridge to anywhere on the map. This ability requires strategic planning and works like no other skill in Smite.
