Helldivers 2

A new update for Helldivers 2, known as Update 1.000.102, has recently been released. This update is accessible across all gaming platforms, as well as on PC. Players can now download this update, which introduces bug fixes, improvement updates, and patch notes for the game. It is worth noting that the file size of this update may differ depending on the gaming platform being used.

Balancing

Enemies:

  • One of the major discussion points both online and internally has been the amount of heavily armored targets that spawn on higher difficulties, particularly for Terminids. In response to this feedback, changes have been made to the spawn rates of Chargers and Bile Titans on difficulties 7 and higher. The intention is for groups to still require anti-tank capabilities, but not to the extent previously needed. Spawn spikes of Chargers and Bile Titans have also been reduced. It is important to note that while the distribution of enemy types has been altered, the overall difficulty remains the same. Players can now expect to encounter other enemy types in greater numbers as a result of these adjustments.
  • Another issue raised by the community was the use of anti-tank weapons on Charger’s legs, rather than targeting the weak points. To address this, the health of the Charger’s head has been lowered so that a well-placed shot from a Recoilless Rifle or EAT-17 will now instantly kill a Charger. Additionally, the armor penetration ability of EAT-17s and Recoilless Rifle shots has been increased in the previous patch, making Chargers easier to handle for well-equipped groups.

Gameplay

  • The “Electronic Countermeasures” operation modifier, which previously had a chance of giving players a random stratagem instead of the one they input, has been removed for reworking. This modifier will be reintroduced in a future iteration after improvements have been made. Feedback indicated that the modifier was not clearly communicated and led to more frustration than excitement. This change was implemented in update 1.000.100 but was accidentally left out of the patch notes.

Fixes

  • Fixed missing text on several HUD/UI elements.
  • Resolved subtitle/VO mismatches in news videos.
  • Addressed various crashes that occurred during gameplay and when deploying to missions.

Known Issues

  • Game crashes when attempting to use a stim while inside an Exosuit.
  • Pink artifacts may appear in the sky after setting off large explosions.
  • Automaton Dropship may disappear and slide in after being shot down.
  • Shots from arc-based weapons may not register as kills in post-mission stats.
  • Players are unable to unfriend others befriended via friend code.
  • Cross-platform friend invites may not show up in the friend requests tab.
  • Players may encounter issues selecting loadouts or returning to the ship when joining multiplayer game sessions via PS5 Activity Card.
  • The Exosuit can self-destruct with rockets if fired while turning.
  • Text chat box display may be obstructed by cinematic letterboxing during extraction.
  • Some players may be unable to accept friend requests, particularly across different platforms.
