Hitman Developer IO Interactive Opens New Studio in Brighton

IO Interactive, the independent developer and publisher behind the popular Hitman series, has announced the opening of a new studio in Brighton, England. The team at IOI Brighton is already established and will contribute to the development of all ongoing games.

“We are thrilled to launch our new studio in Brighton, where we believe there is great potential to expand our talented team and attract top talent from the UK development scene,” said CEO Hakan Abrak.

Expanding Global Presence

Founded in 1998 in Copenhagen, Denmark, IO Interactive has been steadily expanding its global presence. It opened a second studio in Malmo, Sweden in 2019, followed by studios in Barcelona, Spain in 2021 and Istanbul, Turkey earlier this year.

Exciting Projects in the Pipeline

In November 2020, IO Interactive announced that it was developing an officially licensed James Bond game, currently titled Project 007. This game will feature an original origin story for the iconic character.

Additionally, the studio confirmed in February its work on an online fantasy RPG, set to be published by Microsoft for Xbox Series X/S and PC.

While continuing to expand the Hitman World of Assassination trilogy, IO Interactive has temporarily shifted focus away from the next major entry in the series.
