Avalanche Software: On the Way to Hogwarts Legacy 2

The less thanon can say is that Avalanche Software has come a long way. This studio American had first made a name for himself on the Disney Infinity: in other words, working on an open-world and extremely ambitious Harry Potter game was a risky bet, requiring an increase in the number of developers and a certain restructuring. It is not for nothing that‘Hogwarts Legacy has taken so long to come out, being the fruit of at least six long years of work.

At the end of the tunnel, arguably one of the best Harry Potter games ever made, with absolutely gripping Hogwarts and the fulfillment of a childhood dream. However, as a pure and hard action-adventure-RPG game, many criticized it for being too simple in its foundations: it is nevertheless a very good first attempt, which asks only to be transformed. Exactly, it should be the case soon.

On the way

Last May, we were already telling you about a “AAA game” in development at Avalanche Software, potentially being Hogwarts Legacy 2. Just recently, the studio posted news, always for a “high level AAA title”: one concerns an engineer software and the other an artist technique of main character. Above all, dwelling on the description, it is written that the successful candidate will help to… “create sequel”, on imagine it, from Hogwarts Legacy.

A sequel therefore, and not an extension or a stand-alone, would thus be in the pipeline. To be honest, it’s hard to be surprised when on knows the fabulous gold mine on which Warner Bros Interactive is based: Hogwarts Legacy is already one of the biggest sales of 2023, with fifteen millions takers in May 2023. We are therefore waiting to have the updated figures, especially since the version Nintendo Switch is due to arrive on November 14.
