UPDATE: Fortnite fans are gearing up for the highly-anticipated Death Star Sabotage event this weekend. With the debut trailer just released during the Summer Game Fest, gamers can get a sneak peek of the on-foot and aerial battles awaiting them.
Epic Games is set to conclude the short-lived Star Wars season with this thrilling end-of-season event. Scheduled for release on June 7, 2025, at 7 PM BST in the UK, and 2 PM ET for fans in the US, the countdown to chaos is well underway!

Prepare for Battle Against Emperor Palpatine
<pEpic Games has confirmed that players will join forces to battle against Emperor Palpatine and the powerful Death Star. "At Emperor Palpatine’s command, the Death Star's superlaser is charged and ready to decimate the Battle Royale Island," they warned. But hope is not lost! Gamers are invited to take part in the electrifying live event on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2 PM ET.
As always, Fortnite live events promise huge excitement, and Epic Games recommends logging in early to avoid pesky matchmaking queues. The Death Star Sabotage event will even feature prominently on the Discover queue starting at 5 PM BST, giving players ample opportunity to prepare.
Participants can jump into an X-wing or Imperial TIE fighter right before the event kicks off. Once the countdown hits zero, gamers will dive right into Death Star Sabotage!
The event will support parties of up to four players, allowing friends to team up. Plus, for those using Android or iOS devices in the US, joining the fray from mobile is possible too! Fortnite can also be accessed through the Epic Games Store for players in the EU.
As an added bonus, anyone logging into Fortnite between now and June 10 will unlock exclusive Star Wars items, including the Assault on the Death Star Loading Screen and the Captain Phasma Quicksilver Baton Spear Pickaxe. Get ready to unleash some serious firepower!
In the lead-up to the end of this epic season, fans can take charge aboard the Star Destroyer, soaring above to rain destruction on opponents below. Notably, a rift gate will appear at the start of Zero Build and Battle Royale matches, allowing swift access to the Star Destroyer where players can wield its heavy-duty lasers.
The Death Star Sabotage event signifies a grand finale for the current season, but anticipation is already building for what’s next. While Epic Games hasn’t officially announced downtime, rumors suggest a superhero-themed Fortnite season will launch on the morning of June 8.
