Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released on eBay, directed by J.J. Abrams announced to Entertainment Weekly on Monday. According to the author and director of Episode 9, a housekeeper found a copy, gave it to someone, and then put it up for sale at the auction site. Fortunately for the guardians of the spoilers, someone at Disney managed to grab it before it did the general public. Abrams did not mention the actor who lost the script to protect the culprits.
But that’s fine, because the screenplay loser appeared on Good Morning America and openly revealed that he was the one who left the script under his bed.
To illustrate a few things from Abram’s story: It was not a hotel bed, but Boyega’s own apartment, making the offense more forgivable.
“I moved and left the script under my bed,” Boyega said. “I thought,” I leave it under my bed and when I wake up the next morning, I take it and change my clothes. “
Boyega forgot the script and a few weeks later a cleaning lady came and found it and posted it on eBay for about £ 65, about $ 85, pretty cheap for the script of an unpublished Star Wars movie.
Of course, the episode that accidentally ruined the crucial final installment of a big blockbuster franchise was not the biggest one.
“I got calls from every officer,” laughed Boyega.
