Media Molecule recently announced that its curation team will be let go as part of the ongoing layoffs. The studio behind Dreams and LittleBigPlanet, which is owned by Sony, had previously stated that it was considering changes for certain departments.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Media Molecule confirmed that the last members of its Curation Team will be leaving in Spring 2024. The studio had stopped most live support for Dreams last September to focus on a new project, and now it will be ending curation services in-game and online platforms like The Impsider.

Live support for the DreamSurfing playlist and DreamShaping creation workshop is scheduled to end in mid-April. However, Media Molecule is planning to introduce new playlists and a Dreams Recommender playlist to provide personalized recommendations based on players’ recent activities in the game.

The studio is working on bringing together essential kits for creators from both Media Molecule and the Dreams Community before discontinuing live support for DreamShaping. Media Molecule reassured players that it will continue to host Dreams streams and support players through social channels.

Despite these changes, Media Molecule emphasized that there are currently no plans to shut down Dreams. Players can still access the vast library of creations made by the community.
