Microsoft reintroduces $1 trial offer for Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft has reintroduced a special $1 trial offer for select Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. This limited-time offer allows players to access their first month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass for just $1 / £1. Please note that this deal is not available for Game Pass for console.
This offer was previously available for several years before being discontinued in March. At the time, Microsoft stated that it was “evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future.”
If you are an existing Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass subscriber, you can take advantage of this trial offer to upgrade to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. You can carry over your pre-paid membership time at the current conversion ratio, up to a maximum of 36 months.
Prices increased for Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft’s decision to reintroduce the $1 trial offer follows their recent price increase for Game Pass subscriptions. Starting from July 6, prices have gone up in most markets (excluding Norway, Chile, Denmark, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia).
The monthly price for an Xbox Game Pass subscription for console has increased from $9.99 to $10.99 (£7.99 to £8.99 / €9.99 to €10.99). The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate price has also gone up from $14.99 per month to $16.99 (£10.99 to £12.99 / €12.99 to €14.99).
However, the pricing for PC Game Pass remains unchanged at $9.99 / £7.99 per month.
New titles added to Xbox Game Pass
In addition to these changes, Microsoft has announced the latest wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass. Players can now enjoy popular games like Grand Theft Auto 5, Exoprimal, The Cave, and Techtonica.
Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that Xbox Series X console prices will also see an increase in August in most countries (excluding the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia).
