Several NBA players get a sneak peek of 2023’s Call of Duty
During the NBA’s Summer League event in Las Vegas, numerous NBA players have taken to social media claiming they have been shown a demo of the highly anticipated 2023’s Call of Duty title.
Players Given Exclusive Access at NBA’s Summer League
Instagram and Twitter have been flooded with images of NBA players engaged in gaming sessions on PS5 consoles, allegedly playing the upcoming game. It’s unclear whether these players were allowed to share these images as part of the event.
Possibility of New Call of Duty Logo on the Cover
Notably, banners featuring the new Call of Duty logo can also be seen in the images. While the new logo has already been unveiled on official channels, its presence here may suggest its appearance on the cover of the 2023 game.
Game Development Details
The upcoming Call of Duty game is reportedly being led by Sledgehammer and supervised by Infinity Ward. According to Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, Activision’s aim is to create a game that serves as both a standalone, full-price release and an extension of Modern Warfare II.
Schreier reports that maps and modes from Modern Warfare 2 will be carried over, but he emphasizes that plans may change before the game’s release date.
Previous Success of Call of Duty
Last year’s entry, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, achieved historical sales records for the series. Activision announced that it became the fastest-selling game, surpassing $800 million in sales within the first three days and reaching the $1 billion mark in just 10 days. This record was previously held by Black Ops 2 in 2012, which took 15 days to hit $1 billion in sales.
