New Art Unveiled for Ho-oh and Lugia in Pokémon TCG Pocket
The Pokémon Company has made a splash by releasing fresh artwork for Ho-oh and Lugia in Pokémon TCG Pocket. This update follows the controversy surrounding the earlier artwork that was removed due to copyright concerns.
In the recent update titled Wisdom of Sea & Sky, players were greeted with new features. However, before its launch, Chinese artist @lanjiujiu pointed out on X that their previous artwork of Ho-oh had seemingly formed the basis for one of the new cards.
The Pokémon Company swiftly addressed the situation, issuing a statement that included a heartfelt apology and removing the designs for both the Ho-Oh EX and Lugia EX cards, replacing them temporarily with a placeholder image marked “New Art Coming Soon.”
After this prompt action, @lanjiujiu expressed gratitude for the resolution, hoping to put the issue to rest.
Now, fans can rejoice as The Pokémon Company has debuted the new art for both cards. While the background bears a resemblance to the designs that were pulled, the poses of both Pokémon have been notably altered, adding a fresh dynamic to the designs.
