Fresh Evidence Points to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3” as Next Game

Fresh evidence has emerged pointing to this year’s Call of Duty game being titled Modern Warfare 3.

According to DMCA strikes from publisher Activision received by Twitter users, including @BobNetworkUK, the unannounced game has been referenced as “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III”. These users have been sharing images of the game online in recent days.

It is believed that the leaked images originated from an internal test for the title. The game is reportedly a continuation of last year’s Modern Warfare 2, which was developed by Sledgehammer Games.

In February, Bloomberg reported that Activision had initially planned to release a major Modern Warfare 2 expansion this year, but it had evolved into a full game. The new Call of Duty aims to feel like a standalone, full-price release while also extending the Modern Warfare II experience.

The latest leaks suggest that the upcoming sequel will bring back the classic mini map and the Ninja perk. Perks will be categorized into different pieces of “gear” such as gloves, helmets, and boots, according to Modern Warzone.

Earlier this month, several NBA players took to social media claiming that they had been shown a demo of the upcoming 2023 Call of Duty title.

Looking ahead, rumors suggest that the 2024 Call of Duty game will be a new Black Ops installment set during the Gulf War and developed by Treyarch.

In other news, Xbox has announced it has signed a “binding agreement” with Sony to maintain Call of Duty on PlayStation following Microsoft’s anticipated acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
