New games on PS5 and Xbox Series… but also on Super Nintendo!

In terms of video game releases, we thought we had seen it all in 2023. This year, more than another, it’s really a traffic jam with releases galore until the end of the year. If theon awaits all major releases planned on current generation consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series, retrogaming enthusiasts are also spoiled with launches we did not see coming. Thanks to the publisher Piko Interactive, a title from the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) returns from beyond the grave! The project, dating from thirty years ago, was finished, however a shelving was right for its marketing.

For Stephen Ruddy and the Pickford brothers, Steven and John, the Moto-X adventure was heartbreaking. However, under the supervision of one of the branches of the American developer Software Creations which had distinguished itself (with the support of Firebird) on the version Bubble Bobble Commodore 64, Moto-X, developed over eight months, was perfectly playable but never had the chance to see the light of day… until the recent rescue of Piko Interactive. So, what went wrong with this title? Everything leads to believe that it was ousted for fear of suffering from the comparison with the other titles of the SNES.

Moto-X, A Mario Kart like… less than a Mario Kart

If it lacked interest at the time, Moto-X will clearly regain some thanks to this amazing and late release on SNES ! Yes, what cost him his exit in the 90s was son lack of depth. Sort of evolution of Excitebike game (released on NES) combined with gameplay ideas from Powerdrift, Moto-X only had three difficulty modes (250/500/750cc), six playable characters and offered only a meager circuit gallery. Only five, if theon does not take into account the level bonus to unlock. In short, if there were nevertheless available a 2 player modeMoto-X’s lack of variety could have been fatal face to certain leaders of the time. Consequently, the game did not end up on the shelves…

Of course, the developers were still paid for this work of several months, although they were unable to take advantage of the release and had to accept the abandonment of the project by Trimark Interactive, which ended up abandoning the world of video games for that of interactive films. However, thanks to , this story still has a happy ending and it should please collectors who are willing to drop no less than $54.99 to grab this version freshly marketed. Above, you can visualize what Moto-X is, a title where you chain races, avoid obstacles and put a spoke in the wheels of your competitors by collecting bonus and powers. Yes, on looks like Mario Kart with a mustache!
