To say I like Grindstone would be an understatement – it’s been the standout game for me on Apple Arcade since it was released in September. Most of the previous Grindstone updates were bug fixes and minor improvements. For the holidays, developer Capy Games released the first content update for Grindstone.
The best part? Jorj is now muscle Santa. The “Stocking Stuffer” update was released on Apple Arcade on Thursday and added a new festive holiday outfit for Jorj: the Santa outfit, which gives players the ability to spawn gifts after an attack that use up resources. The update also added the option to deactivate the additional beat em up animations at the end of the level. A Christmas miracle for Grindstone’s slobs – the bad guys – in fact: “There is a gracious, cuter way to get your crown out of the slob,” Grindstone developer Dan Vader told Polygon.
To get the Santa Claus outfit, go to the inn screen and visit the tailor. There you can unlock the outfit for free.
More content updates are pending – like new levels and challenges for old and new players. “We will work to increase the experience as much as possible next year,” said Vader.
Grindstone was released on Apple Arcade earlier this year and is one of Polygon’s 50 best games in 2019.
