Overwatch’s latest seasonal event, Winter Wonderland, will be live on Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation 4, the Windows PC, and the Xbox One version of the game on Tuesday, December 10th. Winter Wonderland 2019 runs until 2 January, and players can earn a new batch of skins with holiday themes from loot boxes and weekly challenges.
In the winter wonderland of 2019, the time-limited snowball offensive of Mei returns. And this year, Blizzard is introducing a new mode, still focused on Mei and called Snowball Deathmatch. How Snowball Deathmatch works via Blizzard:
This is a free 8-player Deathmatch where everyone plays as a Mei with a modified Mei snowball cannon similar to Mei’s Snowball Offensive. In this game mode, Mei gains a new ability called “Catch”, which allows you to catch an enemy snowball and, if successful, add it to your ammo count. The first player to score 15 eliminations wins!
Players can also earn a trio of epic skins by winning Overwatch games. Each week, players who win nine games receive the following cosmetic rewards:
- Week 1: Ugly pullover soldier: 76
- Week 2: Holly Moira
- Week 3: Snow Angel Mercy
Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2019 will also be adding new legendary skins such as Jotunn Doomfist, Mountain Man McCree, Rat King Reaper and Rime Sigma, all of which can be seen in the following gallery.
