Ash Ketchum’s Final Episodes of the Pokemon Anime Coming to Netflix in September
Announced at San Diego Comic-Con, the final episodes of the Pokemon anime featuring Ash and Pikachu will be available on Netflix in English across America and Latin America starting from September 8th.
Last year, it was revealed that Ash Ketchum’s journey as the main character of the Pokemon anime would come to an end after 25 years.
A new series centered around a fresh set of characters exploring the Paldea region and beyond is set to begin later this year. As part of Comic-Con, a trailer for the new series was shown, featuring Friede and his partner Pokemon, Captain Pikachu, as well as protagonists Liko and Roy.
Additionally, a 10-minute clip from the English dub of the new anime series has been shared on the official Pokemon YouTube channel.
The current series is currently being broadcasted in Japan. Traditionally, the English dub of the previous Pokemon anime series would become available in English-speaking territories around 6 to 9 months after its original airing in Japan.
The Pokemon anime first premiered in 1997 in Japan and in 1998 in the US. By 2022, Ash and Pikachu have appeared in nearly 1,300 episodes.
While other protagonists have been featured in spin-offs, this marks the end of a continuously connected storyline that will reach over 25 years upon its conclusion.
