Attention Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth fans! There’s been a printing error with the physical Japanese release of the game, causing the discs to have the wrong labels on them.
The official Final Fantasy 7 Remake account on X alerted players that the game comes with two discs – the Data Disc and the Play Disc – but they have each other’s labels. This means you’ll need to insert the disc labeled ‘Play Disc’ first to install the data, and then insert the disc labeled ‘Data Disc’ to actually play the game.
Square Enix has acknowledged that the error was caused by a defect in the manufacturing process at Sony Interactive Entertainment. It’s uncertain if this issue has affected the western releases of the game, or if it’s confined to Japan.
Stay tuned for updates on this development!
