Dev’s Comment

The developers have recognized the need for a map service that aligns more accurately with player preferences. They have used in-game metrics to overhaul the map selection mechanism to mirror regional preferences. This adjustment will increase the likelihood of players enjoying their favored maps. The lineup of fixed maps has also been revised based on community input and trends. The developers have taken explicit player feedback into account, resulting in a permanent spot for three beloved maps, Taego and Sanhok, for the KR/JP and KAKAO regions on PC. For regions with random map selection, there is a clear preference for larger maps, except for Deston. Despite Deston’s lower preference, it has justified a slight increase in its appearance rate due to its comparative popularity over smaller maps. The developers are committed to prioritizing player feedback and will continue to monitor regional trends and engage with the community to guide future improvements.

  • Time required for pump action increased from 0.5s to 0.61s.
  • Bullet size slightly reduced to reduce accuracy.

S686

  • Buckshot spread increased by approximately 14%.
  • Bullet size slightly reduced.

DBS

  • Buckshot spread increased by approximately 40%.

  • Rate of fire decreased from 480 RPM to 375 RPM.
  • Bullet size slightly reduced.

Dev’s Comment

  • The JS9 was designed to diversify the current AR & DMR gunplay meta. However, it has been performing too well, especially in mid to long-range combat. The gun’s damage and recoil have been adjusted to moderate its overperformance while maintaining its excellence in close-quarter combat.
  • Shotguns have also been rebalanced based on in-game analytics and player feedback. While they are designed to excel in close-quarters combat, their impact in medium to long-range encounters has been reduced through changes to buckshot spread, bullet size, and Choke performance. These adjustments aim to restrict their effective range while still maintaining their viability within 10 meters. The S1897 and DBS have also received tuning to their pump action timing and rate of fire to scale down their effectiveness against multiple opponents. These changes align the DBS more closely with other Shotguns.

World: Rondo

  • A new vehicle, the Pico Bus, has been added to the Rondo map. The Pico Bus is PUBG’s first electric vehicle. It is a 6-seater vehicle with superior acceleration. The Pico Bus has a health of 1800 and can reach a max speed of approximately 114km/h. Using boost provides excellent initial acceleration but drains the battery significantly. The Pico Bus can reach a max speed of approximately 127km/h with boost. The vehicle can also move backward at a max speed of approximately 40km/h, and regenerative braking comes into play when the forward/reverse keys are released, slightly charging the battery. The Pico Bus can only be charged at Charging Stations, which have been added to the NEOX Factory and Test Track areas. Exclusive sound for electric vehicles has also been added.

Market Changes

  • In the Item Shop, two healing items have been added: First Aid Kit and Energy Drink. The available quantity for certain purchasable items has been changed from 4 to 2, and the purchase price of specific items has increased. The selling price of attachments has been reduced.

Weapons Dealer Changes

  • The Vector has been removed from the Weapons Dealer, and new weapons have been added: QBZ, AKM, M249, UMP45, Micro UZI, and S12K. The Weapons Dealer now only offers world-spawn weapons for purchase.

Pillar UAZ

  • The Pillar UAZ has been enhanced to improve defense capabilities. The bulletproof coverage area has been broadened, and the vehicle’s health has been moderately reduced.

Emergency Cover Flare

  • The weight of the Emergency Cover Flare has been increased from 15 to 23.

Inventory Changes

  • Looted BR Coins and Gold Bars will now be sorted after healing and boost items in the inventory.

Weather Changes

  • To reduce player fatigue and distraction, the brightness and overall shadows of the Sunset weather have been adjusted.

Minimap Changes

  • Terrain color and outlines on the minimap have been adjusted for better visibility.

Spawn Changes

  • The number of spawns for the Blue Chip Transmitter has slightly decreased, and the number of spawns for the Emergency Cover Flare has significantly decreased.

Miscellaneous Changes

  • A few doors in some buildings in Rondo have been removed.

Gameplay Changes

Vaulting Features

  • New vaulting features have been added to the game to add more action. Players can now vault vehicles when the vehicle is moving at 5km/h or less, regardless of whether the engine is running or not. The new cooperative vaulting feature allows players to lift or pull up their teammates to reach greater heights. There are certain restrictions for these actions, such as not being able to perform them when standing, prone, or on terrain exceeding a specific angle. Significant impact, being knocked out, or being killed will interrupt and cancel the co-op climb.

Vehicle Changes

  • Three-wheeled motorbikes have been removed from all maps due to low usage. The spawn rates of other vehicles that see more frequent use have been adjusted.

Gas Can Changes

  • The Gas Can has been upgraded to allow refueling from outside the vehicle. Players can equip the Gas Can and use the Limited Interact key when near a vehicle to start refueling. The Gas Can will no longer automatically transfer to the inventory when entering a vehicle.

Ranked – Season 28

  • The leaderboard will reset after the live server maintenance. Players can check their final Tier from the previous season through their Career page. Season 27 rewards based on the final Tier are as follows: Bronze – Bronze PUBG ID Emblem, Silver – Silver PUBG ID Emblem, Gold – Gold PUBG ID Emblem and Ranked Parachute Skin, Platinum – Animated Platinum PUBG ID Emblem, Ranked Parachute Skin, and Platinum Medal, Diamond – Animated Diamond PUBG ID Emblem, Ranked Parachute Skin, Platinum and Diamond Medal, Master – Animated Master PUBG ID Emblem, Animated Master Nameplate, Ranked Parachute Skin, Platinum, Diamond, and Master Medal. Top 500 players will receive bonus rewards: Animated Top 500 PUBG ID Emblem and Animated Top 500 Nameplate. The Parachute skin and Medals are permanent rewards, while the other rewards are available for use during a single Ranked season.

Training Mode Changes

  • The Airboat has been removed from Training Mode, and the Food Truck, Blanc, and Pico Bus will be available.

Tutorial Changes

  • The AI Training mode has been removed as it was not effectively utilized. The associated tutorial missions have been updated accordingly.

Utility Belt Removal

  • In the March update, the Utility Belt will be removed. This decision was made based on player feedback and analysis that showed many newcomers to PUBG overlook the Utility Belt’s benefits and that it interferes with the visual appeal of costume skins. The Utility Belt’s capacity feature will be integrated directly into the character’s basic stats. Players currently owning Utility Belt skins will be eligible for compensation in March.

Crafter Pass: Spring Fest 2024

  • A new Crafter Pass has been introduced for the Spring Fest 2024. Players can find more details on the Spring Fest 2024 announcement.

Special Crafting Closing Date

  • The Special Crafting – Spring Fest 2024 tab will only be accessible until April 18, 1 AM UTC. Players should use up their Spring Fest Tokens before the closing date.

Performance Improvements

  • The Death Cam loading process has been optimized, and the logic involving character movement has been enhanced to improve performance stability in situations where multiple players are gathered.
