Return to Monster Hunter: World

At long last. the Monster Hunter: The expansion of the world Iceborne is coming to PC next week. Are you ready? Whether you are a new player who wants to join the mix or an old veterinarian who comes back after a long break, you can prepare in style.

First, take one of the new Defender weapons. Just talk to the blacksmith to get started. These weapons are massively overwhelmed and carry you comfortably through history and beyond. They are very easy to manufacture and upgrade. So don’t hesitate to throw everything you just used into memory and use one of these bad guys. You’ll slice everything from Deviljo to Xeno’Jiva effortlessly and bring the story through with style. These have low material and resource costs and are incredibly good. So if you want to run a small farm before expanding, make a gun. You can also create a Defender set to help you work through the content.

Then prepare for Iceborne. Yeah, it’s similar to a lot of other extensions that your stuff doesn’t look nearly as shiny when it comes out and you have to buy new stuff, but that’s the point, isn’t it? In the meantime, you can do a lot of cool post-game things that you might have missed. Do you want to do a Final Fantasy Behemoth? You can! But hey, Witcher is on Netflix now and everyone wants it, so you can do a Geralt quest line. Yes that’s true. You can play as Geralt and complete a quest in Monster Hunter: World (get the quest right after Xeno’Jiva at the research facility).

Don’t forget to collect important coats and palicos before dropping. These quests can be easily overlooked, but they are often simple tasks that don’t even put you up against two spirited bazelgues. Get your vitality coat. Make sure you get your Plunderblade Palico. Yes, these cat partners rule – especially if you breed pieces for a set. With the Danish Blade you get a lot of additional drops. So grab this kitten as soon as possible. You may not care about sliding around with your coat or sneaking around, but make sure you at least get the vitality one – it will help a lot if an ice cattle comes by and tries to bother you.

Iceborne launches on PC on January 9th – and I can’t wait to go back to the monster porridge!
