Riot Games will release new games that are part of the League of Legends universe but developed by third-party developers under the new label Riot Forge.

Riot Forge, with the help of other game developers, will be releasing single-player games that will expand the League of Legends story “across multiple genres across multiple platforms.” Riot himself goes beyond League of Legends’ core experience with the card game Legends of Runeterra, a fighting game and a role-playing game, but it seems Riot Forge is pushing the League even further.

“We’re always looking for new ways to bring the World of Runeterra and its champions to a new and existing audience around the world,” said Greg Street, vice president of IP and entertainment at Riot Games, in a press release , “There are so many talented game studios around the world that have exceptional experience and crafting skills in all aspects of game development, and we’re excited to be jointly using the LoL IP for new gaming experiences.”

The announcement did not contain any specific titles or data to look forward to but indicated that “several titles” were under development. There was also no confirmation of which developers will work with Riot Forge, although this information is likely to come along with game announcements in the future. The first game will be announced on 12 December at The Game Awards, according to producer and presenter Geoff Keighley.

Below are some concepts that seem to show some iconic places in the world of Runeterra, including Bilgewater, Piltover, Freljord, and Fence.
